JetBlue Reservations

JetBlue was founded in the year 1998 as a low-cost carrier, with head office in the Long Island neighborhood of New York City. The airline has its base at JFK airport and has 5 focus cities, namely, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Long Beach, Orlando, and San Juan.

JetBlue Baggage Allowance

JetBlue allows you to bring a cabin and check-in baggage.

Cabin baggage on JetBlue shall include one cabin bag and one personal item. Both come with their own size limits, but the airline does not prescribe any weight limits on these. Cabin bag shall not be more than 22" L x 14" W x 9" H (55.88 cm x 35.56 cm x 22.86 cm) and personal items must not exceed 17" L x 13" W x 8" H (43.2 cm x 33 cm x 20.32 cm).

Check-in baggage is not free in JetBlue for all passengers. 1st and 2nd check-in bags are charged for Blue cabin class passengers whereas 1st bag is free for Blue Plus and both 1st and 2nd bags are free for Blue Flex cabin class. Charge to be paid for 1st check in bag is USD 30 and for 2nd is $40. For the 3rd and more check-in bags, the charge is $150 per bag. These charges are for that check-in bags which has a linear dimension of 62 inches and weight not more than 50 lbs.

If the size or weight increases, there are additional charges to be paid. Do check for the oversized and overweight baggage charges at the time of booking JetBlue tickets in order to know what will it cost ultimately.

JetBlue Check-in Methods

After completing JetBlue reservations, you can check-in to JetBlue flights in different ways at the airport counter, at airport kiosks available at select destinations, using the web and even its mobile application. There are different timelines within which the check-in shall be completed for boarding on time. The deadlines of opening and closing check-in times for these different means of checking-in are provided by the airline.

JetBlue Frequent Flyer Program

JetBlue also operates a loyalty rewards program of its own. It is called TrueBlue. You can earn the points on flights operated by the airline and also by using the services and products of its partners. The points are earned on the basis of the amount of money spent in dollar terms. So, earning and redemption of points on JetBlue is based on spending in terms of dollars and not on the basis of mileage flown.

The TrueBlue Mosaic members are allowed to take 2 free checks in bags, though they still have to pay $150 per bag for third and more bags.

Redemption of the points can be done on JetBlue flights by way of award flights. The partners with which the points earned can be redeemed are JetBlue vacations, Hawaiian Airlines, Magazines, and Points Transfer.

JetBlue Cabin Experiences

Being an LCC, the airline offers a single class seating across its entire fleet which some exceptions. JetBlue offers Core cabin class to its passengers. The hallmark of this service is complimentary Wi-Fi, entertainment screens with DIRECTV, Sirius XM Radio, complimentary snacks, leather seats, and good leg-room space.
